	ANDREW KIDMAN is an artist, musician and filmmaker. He embodies a time when surfing was all about getting back to nature and enjoying the ocean in a more spiritual sense rather than the hi-octane, corporate-sponsored world surfing has become. Over the last five years I have been involved in the creation of Glass Love. Surfing in itself is a beautiful form; taking place in diverse locations with complex characters; I had ideas I wanted to articulate through motion and sound incorporating this. The process has been a lengthy one because to capture and present it with the meaning and feelings which surfers experience takes time. Also, the ideas I had changed with every wave that passed and with every person that I met and knew. In the film I wanted to feature the generational link and love of surfing that gets passed down through families, in particular through the Curren and Purchase families. The sons are surfers and their fathers are surfer/shapers. It was nice to peek in on a small part of their relationships and how surfing makes them special. This, and the continued experimentation with board design were the highlights for me in making this film. Overall in the making there were many stories, some made the cut - some did not. But rather than dissect them all here in words, I\'ll leave it to you to see the film. I hope you enjoy it. We are all very blessed to be surfers. Andrew Kidman

	Heart of a Soul Surfer offers a personal perspective into the true story and life of Bethany Hamilton, a promising young surfer who discovers her purpose in life as she overcomes the loss of her arm to a 14-ft tiger shark off the coast of Kauai, Hawaii on October 31, 2003. Bethany Hamilton, the young teenage girl who made headlines for swiftly resuming her amateur surfing career after losing an arm in a 2003 shark attack in the waters off Hawaii, shares her story to hundreds of teens. The Christian teen was just 13 years old when the 14-foot tiger shark attacked her just over three years ago on the North Shore of Kauai. The shark also took a 16-inch bite out of her surfboard. Bethany new documentary, “Heart of a Soul Surfer,” which is being released by Walking on Water, a Christian surf company based in San Diego, chronicles how Bethany refused to walk away from the ocean sport, despite the amputation of her left arm. Instead, the incident compelled Bethany to reach inside herself to discover her purpose in life. Emboldened by her faith, Bethany was back on her board just three weeks later. “The main focus (of the film) is the shark attack and how God has used that as a platform to give her an opportunity to share the gospel,” said Mike Doyle, director of outreach for Walking on Water. The young surfer’s determined story captured attention nationwide, resulting in media appearances on Oprah, the Today Show and a variety of other shows. She also wrote the bestselling biography, “Heart of a Soul Surfer,” which was released in 2004. According to the producers, the film captures her transformation and digs deep into the heart of Bethany's abiding faith in God, tackling difficult questions such as 'Why does God allow bad things to happen in our lives?' Doyle said he believes surfing—with its thunderous waves—is a perfect metaphor for the Christian lifestyle. “There is something spiritual about surfing, something that draws you,” he said.

	Robert August has been traveling to Costa Rica for over 18 years now. He has built a second home here and travels to this amazing destination on a constant basis and is considered by many as one of the locals. The locals refer to themselves as Tico or Tica. The ideal is that of a very friendly, helpful, laid back, unhurried and environmentally aware people. Pura Vida (literally, Pure Life) is a way of life in Costa Rica that encourages living in a peaceful manner surrounded by nature, family and friends. Our Endless Fun group has been visiting Costa Rica for close to two decades. 2006 was one of the best years we have seen, with great weather, offshore winds, overhead waves and a great turnout for the Robert August Charity Challenge. Guatamela, located in Central America, was the ideal second location for The Endless Journey Continues. Our crew consisted of our leader and star of the classic film Endless Summer, Robert August, his son Sam August, Endless Summer 2 star Robert ‘Wingnut’ Weaver, Huntington’s Bud Llamas, Dodger Kremel, Mary Osbourne and Costa Rica’s finest, Brookes Wilson. Although this well-traveled group has criss-crossed the globe in search of surf, for some reason the Guatemalen customs stamp was nowhere to be found in any of our passports. Our only thoughts of this country were from textbook stories about the ancient Mayan culture and years of political instability replayed on our local news stations. That was, until our host, Pedro Pablo, sent pictures of waves too good to be true… In Guatemala, we learned two things very quickly: The pictures we were sent of the waves did not do them justice and the textbooks could never compare to experiencing the Mayan ruins in person. While in Guatemala, we discovered hundreds of miles of black sand beaches, countless breaks with no crowds and an amazing culture and history. Now the only question: Do we keep it a secret or shore our stories with the rest of the surfing world? 56 Mins.
