Todd Hannigan will play a live set at the La Paloma screening of the excellent film; Sliding Liberia. Todd worked closely with the filmmakers on this special project. Sliding Liberia should be required viewing for all surfers; watching people surfing in a war- torn nation will change your perspective on our sport forever. Todd’s music adds a depth to film which could be the reason the film has won so many awards at film festivals across the country.
This film screening is a fundraiser for Surf Aid International.
Todd will also play a live set at the May screening of Quest in Huntington Beach; don’t miss this chance to see why his work is sought after by many surf filmmakers.

We are STOKED on our new HB location; Regency Charter Center, and the crowd loved it, too, especially the price, only 3 bucks! We would like to send huge thanks to the Rip Curl crew for hooking us up with Lightning Strikes, the Mick Fanning World Champ story. Matt Gye made a great flick, everyone left the theatre pumped to surf after seeing this film.
We couldn’t have pulled off the new location without the support of our sponsors; South Bay Toyota, Stratis Financial, Surfline, Water Magazine, Red Bull, HSS, Forever Stoked and of course, Carveboard.

When life hands you lemons… make Lemonade! After six and-a-half years of Surf Theatre events at Pierside Pavilion, we are forced to move our Huntington Beach location. We are STOKED to announce that Charter Centre Cinemas will be the new home for Surf Theatre! Centrally located on Beach Blvd and Warner Ave, right in the heart of Huntington Beach. The best part of the deal is the price… only 3 BUCKS!! Free parking, too! Bring the whole family for a great night of surf action and of course, the always popular raffles.
We will be there on our usual night; every 2nd Thursday of the month plus special events, beginning March 13th with Rip Curl’s ode to the ASP World Champ Mick Fanning; Lightning Strikes
Big Red Productions has worked with the theatre operator, Regency Theatres, many times in the past. They are the owners of several other popular indie theatres including the Lido in Newport Beach, Laguna South Coast Cinemas in Laguna Beach and Buena Ventura Theatres in Ventura, so they are very surfer-friendly, if you know what I mean. Check out their website for “regular” movie times- they will even send you emails to let you know whats playing at your fav theatre; www.RegencyMovies.com
The owner of Pierside (also home to HSS, Surfline, Spark, Fred’s and many other businesses), will be renovating the building. It is still not clear whether or not a theatre will remain after the construction is completed or when the work will even begin. I will keep you posted.

Ok, it’s been a little while since I have updated- there has just been so much going on. First of all, I am so proud to be a part of this industry after witnessing everyone come together for the Save Trestles cause. I could feel the energy on the 5 Freeway nearing the Del Mar Fairgrounds; cars decorated with Save Trestles and Stop the Toll Road signs were just the beginning. When we pulled into the parking lot, I was amped to see EVERY major brand representing with their buses, trucks, signs and people honking. It was really cool. Big props to Surfrider for rallying the troops to victory!
I wish I could have stayed to hear all of the speeches, but my little 2 yr old had other plans in mind. Instead, I spent a couple of hours outside with other surf-stoked parents, chasing toddlers around tents and in the dirt lot. It was great to see those cute kids decked out in anti-Toll Road t-shirts; the spirit is definitely instilled!
